Voice input turns what you say into text in the message box, so you can review it before sending.
Dictate a message
- Select the microphone in the message box (Voice input).
- Speak your message.
- Select the microphone again to stop (Stop voice input). Your words appear in the message box.
- Check the text, make any changes, and send.
The microphone isn't working
The first time you use voice input, your browser or phone asks for permission to use the microphone. If you said no, see Fixing microphone and camera permissions.
Voice input needs an internet connection. To dictate without one, turn on offline voice typing.
