The response mode sets how long TachlisAI thinks before it answers. Deeper modes are better for hard problems, but take longer and use more AI credits.
How do I change the response mode?
- In the message box, select the response mode button. It shows the current mode, such as Faster.
- Under Response mode, choose an option.
Your choice applies to the chat you're in and is remembered on this device for next time. Select the info button next to an option to see which model it uses.
Which mode should I choose?
| Mode | Best for | What it uses |
|---|---|---|
| Faster | Quick answers for everyday questions | OpenAI's fast chat model |
| Smarter | A balance of speed and thoughtful answers | GPT-6.1 Sol |
| Smartest | Complex, multi-step, or especially careful questions | GPT-6 Astra |
| Pro | Demanding work where extra care matters more than speed | GPT-6 Astra in Pro mode |
Faster is usually enough for a simple question. If an answer misses the point on a tricky problem, try asking again with Smartest.
How long does Pro take?
Pro thinks much longer than the other modes. Responses can take around 20 minutes, often less and sometimes more. You can start another chat while you wait.
If Pro is briefly unavailable, TachlisAI answers in standard mode instead and shows Pro fallback applied.
Do deeper modes use more credits?
Yes. Deeper reasoning uses more AI credits than Faster. See Free access and AI credits FAQ.
Can I use models from other companies?
Yes. You can add Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Muse Spark to this list. See Using Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Muse Spark.
